I had no idea Don Maloney there, my favorite player growing up

If there are any new D on the team this year they better be on our roster right now ...Hamonic will be better next year as it’s very normal for D to struggle their first year with a new team and it’s even harder for a D from the east to come play in the west ....Brodie should be made available for the right price but they shouldn’t sell low on him

I want to see 1-2 spots on D made available to some of the kids if they earn it .

Personally, if we want want to improve the top 9 we need to acquire a top 6 centre.
I would hope the targets would be Zibby or RoR. Brodie wont be enough to get either of those, but if you add Kylington or Fox, I think the deal has legs.

Then as Peters said, he likes pairs & obviously Monahan/Gaudreau is set. Then you would have Zibby or RoR with Tkachuk. That moves Backlund & Frolik down to 3rd line which would be instant improvement. Peters can play mix & match with the Bennett, Ferland, Foo,Dube, Magpie & anyone else that produces based on performance throughout the year.

Then I would give Janko the 4th line & give him 10-12 minutes to let him continue to grow with the likes of Brouwer (if we have to keep him for 1 more year) & Lazar & Hathaway & anyone else that wins the job in training camp. That would instantly improve your 4th line as well. Just my opinion.

Definite Arizona connection. Which is why I dont see them trading Bennett unless return is very good or part of a deal for a piece they really covet after what they saw happened when they traded Turris for Runblad & a 2nd round pick.

I don’t see Center as our weakness or need ....we need RW who can score ...and janko playing with Brouwer will hurt him not help

And Brodie can get you a top 6 RW ...D are overvalued compared to wingers

IMO I am done with the 3M line ...time to let tkachuk play on a different line ...let backs and frolik play with someone else as a shutdown line

I’d overpay for him ....but to me that would be Stone and I think that’s a pretty big overpay ....kid plays in TO so he is overhyped ....everyone has players who excel in the ahl ...don’t mean he will d er be anything in the nhl

I am not saying trade him now. But Janko looks like he could end up being a good 3C which is where Backland will eventually end up.

Calgary needs another scoring line. Tkachuk is a start and maybe we could salvage Bennett as a RW, hell even try Tkachuk on RW.

But another C that drives play would do wonders for this team.

I think before Bennett gets written off you gotta give him a year playing with some good players.

The original pla was to have Bennett playing center. Did not happen so that kinda left a hole that I am not sure Janko can fill.

If Bennett had panned out as we had hoped do you think Calgary re-signs Backs?
